Square Dance Club

Welcome to Square & Round Dancing in South Paris & Norway, Maine

Square dancing is for all ages. It is a great way to relax and have fun as well as to meet people and make new friends. There are no dress requirements and the music is modern and upbeat. Square dancing is a fun and healthy activity you can do all year long. You need no experience to visit a workshop and see what the excitement is all about.

Quilt Raffle: As fund raiser to help keep our club alive, we are raffling off a quilt (see photo). Tickets are $5.00 each and the drawing will be held at our 60th Anniversary Dance, Saturday, August 10, 2024.

Wednesday evenings, 6:30-7:45 PM, from September through May, Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club invites singles, couples, and families to try square dancing. You can join us anytime to watch, but why not try a class?

Our new class for beginners will start Wednesday, September 20, 2023. The enrollment will be open for two weeks. The first lesson is free! To join in the fun you get 10 weeks (September - December) for only $6 a week. Club caller Ray Hilton will be teaching, and club members will be there to assist in the square with the beginners.

We meet at American Legion Post 72, 12 Church Street, South Paris, ME 04281 (parking behing the Legion Hall). We do not meet on school snow days, or on the second Wednesday of the month.

We know that you will have an enjoyable and fun-filled evening. We hope that you will join us. For more information call our presidents, Dick & Joan Deans at 966-2327.

Workshops for experienced dancers are from 7:45-8:30 PM; $6.00 per person. All new dancers, and non-dancers, are invited to stay and watch the second part of workshops. Visiting experienced dancers are welcome to join in at any workshop.
